# About
MDFKR is an independent streetwear label built around typography and ideas. We are not a trend house and we are not trying to be loud. The work is quiet on purpose.
## What we believe
A few principles shape everything we make.
**Observation over ideology.** We would rather look closely than argue loudly. What is in front of you usually tells you more than any position about it.
**Actions over beliefs.** What a person does is the honest version of what they think. We design for that version.
**Signal over noise.** Most of what competes for attention is noise. We try to remove it rather than add to it.
**Meaning is created, not given.** A word on a garment does not arrive with meaning attached. You bring it. That is the point.
## How the work is made
This is not fast fashion. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be wanted.
Every piece is made to order. When you place an order, that specific garment is produced for you and then sent out. Making things only after they are wanted is a deliberate choice. It keeps the catalogue small, the work considered, and the waste low. We would rather make less and mean it.
## Independent by design
MDFKR is small and intends to stay that way. We answer to the work, not to a season. Drops are limited and infrequent, the range stays tight, and the focus stays where it started: clean typography and a single clear idea per piece.
If that sounds like restraint, it is. Not for everyone. That has always been the idea.
